Description: Melaka demonstrates the early stages of the history originating in the 15th- Historic Melaka City century Malay sultanate and the Portuguese and Dutch periods Council beginning in the early 16th-century with its government buildings, churches,squares, and notifications.

August Festivals
MATTA Fair Melaka 2010
	Dates : August 06 - August 08 , 2010 Place :Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall Melaka . Description: Thirty three years ago, in 1975, a group of travel and tour agents initiated an association to represent their interests. That association, aptly named Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents or MATTA for short, started with 30 members. MATTA's objective is to promote the interests of the travel and tour industry in Malaysia. MATTA works closely with the Ministry of Tourism (Motour) as well as Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board (MTPB), help organise fairs, seminars, convention and workshops both to create public awareness of the tourism industry as well as to benefit its members.
Melaka Tourism Street Carnival (MTSC) 2010
	Dates : August 06 - August 07 , 2010 Place : Ayer Keroh Lake, Melaka . Description: Drift, drag, live band, dance, karaoke, extreme games all the street hypes were back at Ayer Keroh Lake. This year it was held in 2 days . Although the event period was shortened, it still packed with activities with more than 20 activities!!
Bazaar Ramadhan
	Dates : August 11 - September 09 , 2010 Place : Various Venue, Melaka . Description: As the fasting month begins, stalls and bazaars sprout around the city, offering an array of delicious fare for Muslims to break their fast. Sample the authentic delights or watch the cooking demonstrations.
National Day Celebration
	Dates : August 31 , 2010 Place : Bandar Hilir, Melaka . Description: Showcase of variety of ethnic cultural show for everybody to enjoy. Showcase of variety of ethnic cultural show for everybody to enjoy.

Melaka Festivals

Here are a sampling of events organized throughout the year in Melaka. Some are traditional events that have a long history and some are newer events organised by the government to stimulate tourism. As such, bear in mind, some are hits and some are misses.... Of course many events are geared towards the local population and as such the language used will be Bahasa Melayu but don't let that hold you back - GO! - you'll be surprised how warmly you are welcomed.
